Compass Insurance Managing Director, Paul Carragher, welcomed guests to the company’s annual awards ceremony, this year called “The Morning of the Stars”, the event having been changed to comply with Conflict of Interest requirements. Jurgen Graber, Member of Executive Board of Germany’s Hannover Re, was also in attendance.

Nominees in this category were: Ad Ultimum Outsourcing (Wim Smit) and Landmark Underwriting Agency (Gert Henning).
In the under R50m GWP category, the winner was Construction Guarantee, a specialist underwriter in the construction space by guaranteeing the completion of construction projects.
Nominees in this category were: Gem & Jewel Acceptances (Natasha Maroun, Gary Cross) and Garagesure Consultants & Acceptances (Leslie Mitchell).
The Compass Combined Ratio Award – given to an agency with the lowest combined ratio for the past three years (2008 – 2010) – was awarded to Firedart Engineering Underwriting Managers in the over R50m GWP category.
Nominees in this category were: Landmark Underwriting Agency (Gert Henning) and Thatch Risk Acceptances (Natasja Blok).
