Guy Carpenter & Company, the leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, today announced effective 1st October 2011, Ian Snowball joins Guy Carpenter Africa as Head of Business Development.
Ian joins from Reinsurance Solutions, where he was a co-founder and Deputy Chairman. Ian brings with him over 28 years of reinsurance broking experience and a proven track record in business development and in the structuring and design of reinsurance programmes.
Ian will be based in the Johannesburg office and will join the Guy Carpenter Africa Executive alongside Geoff Leathem as Head of Treaty Broking, Simon Smith as Head of Specialty Broking, Mary Driscoll as Head of Fac and Howard Marjoram as Head of Operations.

Also joining on October 1st, Selina Sewpursad (Pillay) joins as Assistant Vice President, Finance. Selina joins from Aon Benfield where she worked in their finance department for the past eight years.
