52nd AIO Conference

The 52nd African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Conference brought together more than 2,000 delegates from 57 countries to explore the future of insurance in Africa, highlighting collaboration, inclusive economic growth and the industry's role in building a more resilient continent.

The 52nd AIO conference presented the perfect balance of industry discussions on topical issues, alongside networking throughout the event. It celebrated the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Egypt, featuring local entertainment, food, and historical sites.

With more than 2000 attendees, representing 57+ countries - the AIO conference is a standout event on the African Insurance calendar.

The conference was opened with a welcome message from the LOC president, followed by an address from the outgoing AIO president who championed the conference sessions and dialogue as mechanisms to help drive continued

development & collaboration across the insurance industry.

A key discussion point for this year’s event focused on how to create economic growth that is inclusive, and sustainable.

Mr Yared Mola encouraged delegates to engage actively, and contribute ideas to help unlock progress through insurance, and thanked all of the sponsors for helping to make this event possible.

Dignitaries from Egypt gave the opening keynote and welcomed the AIO conference to Egypt, supporting the dialogue of insurance as an economic enabler.

The AIO presidency was officially handed over to Mr Alaa El-Zoheiry, by the outgoing president, Mr Yared Mola.

"Insurance has a vital role to play in unlocking inclusive, sustainable economic growth across Africa."

The first day closed out with a dinner focused on celebrating a stronger and more resilient Africa, highlighting achievements from insurance professionals across various award categories.

The second day provided equal opportunity to engage with peers and industry dialogue. Conference delegates had an open evening to explore Cairo, with the last official day of the conference featuring a gala dinner hosted at the prestigious Cairo Citadel. An evening filled with a unique atmosphere , steeped in local history.
