Ms Lelané Bezuidenhout appointed new CEO of the FPI

<span style="font-weight: 400;"><img class=" wp-image-138637 alignleft" src="https://www.cover.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Lelané-Bezuidenhout.jpeg" alt="" width="166" height="166" />The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) has announced the appointment of Ms Lelané Bezuidenhout CFP</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">®</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 June 2019.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Lelané started her career in the Financial Sector in 1999 when she joined one of the major insurance companies. She became a customer relations specialist dealing with FAIS related matters in collaboration with the Legal and Compliance departments. She joined the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (“FAIS Ombud”) in 2010 where she gained high-level expertise in FAIS legislation and related subordinate regulation.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Having joined FPI in 2014, she served in a number of roles, the latest of which as Head of the Certification and Standards Department. As part of her career development, Lelané obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">® </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Professional, which equipped her well for a deep understanding of FPI’s role and purpose.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Members of the Board, Management and FPI staff all have offered their support to Lelané who, in her own unassuming way, lives life by the motto “our stumbling blocks are our stepping stones”.</span>
