On Wednesday, 9 October 2019 a group of candidates graduated with the country’s first ever formal underwriter occupational qualification. The qualification was introduced by the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) when they realised that there were not enough people following this career path. The insurance industry is one of the industries that have proven to be slow to transform and this qualification is hoped to encourage and open the door to the insurance industry and improve career prospects for those already in the industry since it enjoys international recognition.
