Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager announces new Head of Finance

Rieva Fredericks has been promoted to Head of Finance for Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager, effective 1 July 2025. This appointment reflects Sanlam Investments’ commitment to harnessing the talent within its business to strengthen its focus on operational resilience, scalable growth and market leadership.

“I’m deeply honoured to take on this role at such a pivotal time for our business. As we continue to scale and innovate, finance has a critical role to play in enabling agility, resilience, and long-term value creation. I look forward to contributing to our next chapter of growth alongside an exceptional team,” says Fredericks, incoming Head of Finance, Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager.

With assets under management and administration of R427 billion as of 31 March 2025, Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager is the second-largest multi-manager in South Africa. Its offering spans Glacier Invest, Amplify Investment Partners, Graviton and corporate solutions – underscoring the scale and strategic importance of the business within Sanlam Investments.

Fredericks joined the multi-manager business in 2017 and has played a key role in executing the firm’s financial strategy. She brings over 18 years of experience in the corporate sector, including a decade at British American Tobacco, where she built a strong foundation in finance and operations. She holds a BCom in Accounting from the University of the Western Cape and will now serve as a member of the Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager Exco.

“We believe Rieva’s financial leadership will be instrumental in enabling our next phase of innovation and growth,” says Darryl Moodley, CEO of Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager.

He adds, “As the asset management industry undergoes rapid transformation, Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager is strategically embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) across our business to transform the foundation of our investment, research, and operational capabilities. Our approach underscores our deep commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology to enhance decision-making, drive investment outperformance, and deliver an elevated client experience.”

A key milestone in this journey is the launch of AI-powered research and analysis tools that support faster, data-rich investment decision-making. By embedding AI across its value chain, the firm aims to boost productivity, generate deeper insights, and lead in tech-enabled asset management.
