Better representation needed for brokers, UMAs and independents

The independents, brokers and UMA's, are not represented as well as possible. Neville Dupiesanie, MD of Pinnafrica, explains the challenges and steps towards better representation.

Being an independent UMA themselves and with a lot of independent UMA's going internal into the specialist units, we asked Neville what his take was on the current environment for independent UMAs and brokers.

Here's what he had to say:

Extremely difficult. The reason why it is difficult is because there are multiple relationships between big insurers and credit providers now, which to a large degree excludes the small insurers and brokers. Our access to the consumer who is buying a vehicle or taking a personal loan, in my opinion, has reduced by about 60%.
