Stay ahead of industry shifts at the 2025 Estate and Trust Masterclass

The 2025 Estate and Trust Masterclass will offer in-depth insights into key topics shaping estate and trust planning today. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on complex estate planning in South Africa, roles and rights within offshore trusts, VAT implications in deceased estates, and ethical considerations in estate and trust planning.

The Masterclass is set to take place online on 17 September and starts at 09h00, with a welcome from Kobus Kühn, CFP®

The first session dives into the nitty-gritty of complex estate planning in South Africa, led by Renate Jute, CFP®. Then, Nitrisha Doorasamy will talk about the roles and rights of beneficiaries and protectors in offshore trusts. After a quick break, Stephan de Wet, CFP® will cover VAT in deceased estates, including what can be taxed and how it impacts everyone involved. Finally, Errol Meyer, CFP® will wrap things up with a session on ethical considerations in estate and trust planning, touching on fiduciary duties and managing conflicts of interest.

Kobus Kühn, CFP® will close the masterclass with a Q&A and closing remarks at 12h45
