Training variety update

As we head into April 2021 and the upcoming Easter weekend I am delighted to share the attached line up of training and webinar options available to those who are interested in furthering their knowledge, skill, experience, and professional and personal growth in dealing with life insurance risk claims matters; expert opinions in the medico-legal environment; medicine and law.
When choosing to unbundle the Burns-Hoffman & Associates national consultancy in mid-2016 (of 12 years standing at the time), I did so with the intention to enable more time not only to further specialise, but to also invest back into the professional environments from which I come, and in which I continue to thrive.
April promises to be a busy and exciting month, with the following in store:
- The next UCT certified Law @ Work and SCOR Life and Disability Claims: Legal and Practical Management course commences online with module one on the 16th of April 2021. At 30 ethics points, the course enjoys a whopping number of this much sought after category of CPD points: a real scoop on the CPD front if ever there was one!
- The SAMLA, Genoa Underwriting Managers and Norton Rose Fulbright Inc. South Africa webinar, titled: Medicine, Maternity Care & Remote Site Health Management in Africa, takes place on Zoom on the 22nd of April 2021 and enjoys 1 CPD point for attendance. This is a talk not to be missed, presented by two incredibly powerful and impactful women who have pioneered - and continue to lead - the roll out of healthcare in certain parts of remote East Africa.
- The fifth UCT certified course on The Provision of Expert Opinion & Evidence as a Health Professional, runs online on the 29th and 30th of April 2021. This course enjoys 14 CPD points - 9 ethics and 5 normal points.
An exciting side note: March 2021 saw the awarding of the first post-graduate Elise Burns-Hoffman Bursary, arising from the accumulated donation of a portion of the professional fees earned during running the above-mentioned expert course(s), to a Masters Occupational Therapy student. The student given the bursary has elected to focus his further studies on the ability of young adults with mild-moderate intellectual disabilities to retain employment within the open labour market in low and middle income countries. A subject most exciting for an OT specialised in the world of work!
