Renewable Risk Advisers (RRA), part of Crawford Dougall International, has been named Insurance Adviser of the Year at the 2026 Wind Investment Awards, a prestigious international accolade recognising excellence in the global renewable energy sector.

The award was presented at the seventh annual Wind Investment Awards, hosted in London by energy transition advisory firm Tamarindo. Notably, this was the inaugural year for the Insurance Adviser of the Year category, making the recognition particularly significant.

The recognition comes shortly after RRA’s integration into South African insurance brokerage group Crawford Dougall International, strengthening the group’s specialist renewable energy capabilities across the UK, Africa and international markets.

For the South African insurance market, the award highlights the growing importance of specialist risk and insurance expertise as renewable energy projects continue to accelerate across Africa and globally. As governments, investors and developers pursue ambitious energy transition goals, insurers and risk advisers have an increasingly important role to play in helping projects attract investment, secure financing and manage complex risks.

RRA has built a reputation for supporting offshore renewable energy projects from the earliest stages of development through to commercial operation. Its work focuses on improving project bankability, enhancing risk management practices and helping emerging technologies become insurer-ready.

The judging panel commented: “Renewable Risk Advisers impressed our judges with a high-quality entry that showcased its wide range of work, from established technologies to more niche areas such as floating wind. A very interesting entry that shows strong commitment to early-stage technologies.”
