Skills shortages in the healthcare environment

Healthcare is always an important topic to talk about and for most people, it's one of those things that you don't really notice until you need it. Like most things in our country, there are challenges with medical aids and the topic that we are going to be talking about, in the podcast discussion below, is specifically about the skill shortages and the challenges that we are currently facing and that we might face in the future.
We caught up with the CEO of medical scheme Profmed, Craig Comrie to find out what he has to say on this topic of discussion.
"we are facing an exit of healthcare skills and we can't produce sufficient skills to replace them. What we have to start really thinking of is how we can produce more skills, and it's in effect a very easy economic equation of supply and demand." - Craig Comrie
"As we produce doctors, we see many of them exiting to overseas countries, so the ones that are left effectively can demand the reimbursement or the salaries that they want only because there's no alternative." - Craig Comrie
